OFA, N-N split in track-field


OFA and Norwood-Norfolk have enjoyed a history of outstanding dual meets in NAC Boys Track-Field.

They made a little more history on Thursday as the host Blue Devils (2-0) outscored the Flyers 125-116.

N-N outscored OFA 189.50-128.50 in the Girls Meet.

“It was a very good meet and we knew it was going to bve very close. The 800 meters was very big” said OFA Coach John Tebo.

The trio of Alex Wood, Colin Sovie and Andrew Colburn posted a decisive 1-2-3 finish in the 880 meter run highlighting a strong showing by the Devils’ distance crops which also produced a 1-2 from Wood and Joe Grizzuto in the 3200.

Wood also won the 1600 meters and rounded out a four victory day by combining with Colburn, Donovan Smith and Sovie for a 4x400 relay victory. Sovie, Colburn and Smith also combined with Pat LaComb to win the 4x800 relay.

Smith rounded out a productive day by leading the 200 and 400 meter dashes.

Grizzuto doubled as the high jump medalist and Taylor Bouchard won the long jump and triple jump.

Connor Levison led the Flyers by combining with Dion Aumell and Will Schiavone for 1-2-3 sweep int the 110 hurdles, leading the 400 hurdles and combining with Travis Hall, Aumell and Jake Wellings for a first place in the 4x100 relay.

Preston Mason won the discus throw and Aaron Chandler and Preston Mason posted a 1-2 in the shot put.

Individual second places for OFA came from: Russ Jacquith (DT) and Taylor Bouchard (400H). N-N seconds came from: Travis Hall (100-200), Deven Grant (1600), Will Schiavone (400-HJ-TJ), Jake Wellings (LJ).


The Lady Flyers were led by a host of multiple medalists paced by Kaycie Saucier and Lean Livernois. Saucier led the 800, 1500 and 3000 meter runs and ran on the winning 4x800 relay team with Livernois, Hannah Gray and Jess Fulk.

Livernois also led the 100 meter dash and ran on the 4x400 relay team with Remington, Collins and Maddie Seguin who also won the 100 hurdles and the high jump.

Alexis Sweet led the long jump and triple jump and Arianna Colbert paced the shot put and discus throw.

Nikki Duprey led OFA wth a triple medalist effort where she led the 200 dash and the high jump and combined with Markie Willard, Charlotte Miller and Danielle Steenkamer for a victory in the 4x100 relay.

Second places for OFA came from: Kayla Tolman (100H), Durpey (100), Kurstyn Macaulay (400-3000), Markie Willard (200), Charlotte Miller (LJ) and Samantha King (DT, SP).
