Ocala Fl. - Edna I. Smith 88 formerly of Richville died Saturday April 27 2013 in Ocala Fl.

She is survived by 2 sons and their wives: Garnet T. and Linda Weaver of Fowler; Edward L. and Yvonne Smith of Richville; 3 daughters and their husbands: Bonnie and Richard McMillan Ont. Canada; Nancy and Chris Corwine Guyton Ga; Mary and John Thompson Ocala Fl.; son in law Gordon Simmons, 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Sister Shirley Bottino Syracuse, several nieces’ nephews and cousins. She was a caregiver to Cheryl Scott. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her husband Edward Smith, her daughter Patti Simmons, Brothers Reggie, Roger, Jack and Doug Dufresne and Sisters Rita, Irene and Lucille.

Edna was born September 13 1924 in Massena, a daughter of the late Edward and Helen Dufresne. She attended Massena School. On 12/31/43 she married Garnet Weaver; he died in a car accident. On 12/10/49 she marred Edward Smith he passed away November 1985.

Edna worked as a cook at Richville Elementary School and later she became a bus driver at Gouverneur Central School. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She lived in Richville until 2003 when she moved to Ocala Fl.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made to Richville United Church or Maple Grove Cemetery.
