Ashley, son of Deborah LeRoux and Michael Ashley, both of Massena, graduated from the Navy’s Nuclear Power School at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Goose Creek, S.C. Nuclear Power School is a rigorous six-month course that trains officer and enlisted students in the science and engineering fundamentals in the design, operation and maintenance of naval nuclear propulsion plants. Honored: Belinda G. Jones, Fort Drum, was named the Jefferson Community College Honors Program Student for the Week, ending April 12. Ms. Jones is studying liberal arts-humanities and social sciences at JCC. She was recently named to the 2013 All-New York Academic Team for Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for community colleges. For her honors options, she worked to establish a baseline score for the Go Green rating scale for the JCC Campus Care Center. Ms. Jones plans to transfer to East Carolina University, Greenville, N.C., for a bachelor’s degree in social work, and pursue a career in the human services field as a childcare center licensor.

Honored: Sandra Fisher, Clarkson University, Potsdam, recently received the seventh annual American Association of University Women Research Award from the St. Lawrence County branch of the organization.
