Lyons Falls: Berniece A. Bauer, 95, formerly of Cherry street, died Sunday

in Hospice of Dayton, Ohio after a brief illness.

She was born April 3, 1918 in Carthage the daughter of William and Fern Holland Hawk and was a graduate of General Martin High School, Glenfield.

She was employed at Rome Cable during the war and had also been employed at various hotels in Old Forge and Lyons Falls. She was employed at AMF, Lowville as a machine operator for 14 years.

She was married to Charles Bauer who died in June 1960.

She is survived by one daughter Marilyn Jean Williams, Lowville and two sons Darwin (Butch) of Medway, Ohio and Charles, (Bubber), of Buna, Texas; three sisters Polly Farney, Croghan, Beverly Youngs, Florida and Suzanne Cobb, Glenfield; two brothers Edward Hawk, Massachusetts and Jack Hawk, North Carolina; 14 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Callaghan Funeral Home, LLC, Port Leyden with Rev. Mr. Ron Pominville, Deacon of St. Peter’s Church, Lowville, officiating.

Burial will be in Old Glendale Cemetery, Glenfield.

Friends may call Saturday from 9 until the funeral at the funeral home.
