N-N, Massena track teams settle for NAC splits


NORFOLK - The Norwood-Norfolk boys and girls track teams settled for a split at home against Gouverneur in NAC action on Thursday.


In the boys meet, Connor Levison and Jake Wellings scored two wins apiece for the host Flyers but Gouverneur came away with a 125-114 decision. Levison led both the 110 hurdles and the 400 hurdles while Wellings captured both the long jump and triple jump.

Also posting individual firsts for N-N were; Travis Hall in the 400, Aaron Chandler in the shot put, Preston Mason in the discus and Dion Aumell in the high jump.


The Lady Flyers notched wins in all but three events en route to outscoring the Lady Wildcats 179-129.

Kaycee Saucier emerged as the leading individual scorer for N-N with three wins as she led the 800, 1,600 and 3,000-meter runs. Leah Livernois (100, 400) and Cadence Hunkins (high jump, 400 hurdles) logged two wins apiece. Claiming solo firsts were Megan Seguin in the 100 hurdles, Emily Laroe in the 200 and Alexis Sweet in the triple jump.

The quartet of Saucier, Livernois, Hannah Gray and Jessica Fulk combined to lead the 3,200 relay. Laroe combined with Olivia Collins, Danielle Linsky and Savanah Linsky to pace the 400 relay. Hunkins, Collins and Fulk later teamed up with Lily Parmeter to capture the 1,600 relay.

At other meets on Thursday, the Massena girls downed OFA while the boys fell to the Blue Devils, Madrid-Waddington won both matchups against Potsdam and Salmon River hosted its Clifton-Fine counterparts.


While the Massena boys fell 133-110 to the Blue Devils the Lady Raiders posted a 163-152 decision.

Gaining solo wins for the Raiders in the boys meet were Andrew Brush in the long jump, Kyle Nicholson in the 400 and Cody Hooper in the shot put.

The foursome of Brush, Asa Kershner, Matei Krcmar and Anthony McClary combined to lead the 400 relay.

In the girls meet, the Lady Raiders placed first in eight events led by Amber Cunningham who captured both discus and shot put honors and Jacalyn Lamica who led both the high jump and 200. Also contributing wins were Allison Dix in the triple jump and Robin Bourdreau in the100 hurdles.

Combining to lead the 400 relay for Massena were Cora Johnson, Krystal Arquette, Lucy Pang and Lamica. Teaming up to pace the 1,600 relay were; Katelynn Burnham, Waheson Lazore, Natalie LePage and Rachel Mott.


The host Yellowjackets won the boys meet 128-103 and the girls meet 158-146.

The Sandstoners got three wins from Peter Clark (110 hurdles, 400 hurdles, triple jump) while O’den Robertson sped to wins in both the 100 and 200. Ethan Vinson accounted for the other individual first by pacing the 800.

Clark and Robertson also teamed up with Ebuka Ononye and Thomas Hobbs to capture the 400 relay. Robertson and Vinson later combined with Sam Lee and Mike Perrier to claim the 1,600 relay.

The Lady Sandstoners were led by Maddie Drechsel who won the 100, the 200 and the long jump. Kate Hildreth captured triple jump honors and Arielle Stoian led the high jump standings.
