ADAMS — A Fort Drum soldier faces charges after he allegedly fired a shotgun at a raccoon Friday night on Michaels Road and, instead, the shotgun pellets hit a nearby house.

Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Bryant G. Jones, 23, of 10122 4th Armored Division Drive, on Friday night on charges of reckless endangerment and illegal use of a firearm. After getting out of a vehicle at 11:11 p.m., he fired the shotgun three or four times at a raccoon that he saw crossing Michaels Road, deputies said. The shotgun pellets hit a nearby house.

Mr. Jones, who was released to military police, is to appear in Town Court.
