A Brownville couple and a Dexter woman traveling together have been identified as the three people killed in a collision Friday on Route 37 in the town of Oswegatchie.
Representatives of the families confirmed Saturday that Albert Robinson Sr., 62, and Georgia Robinson, 58, of Brownville, and Kristine K. Fitchette Bell, 51, of Dexter, died in the 10 a.m. crash near the Stonefence Resort and Motel just south of Ogdensburg.
Ms. Bells sister, riding with them, remains in critical condition at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, a spokeswoman for their family said. State police would not release any of the names.
The four were in a Chevrolet Cruze that struck a Dodge Caravan head-on after the southbound compact car inexplicably swerved into the opposite lane, state police said Friday.
Kristine Bell worked for Jefferson Rehabilitation Center, Watertown. She was in the Ogdensburg area for work, although the spokeswoman did not know how Ms. Bell knew the Robinsons.
The couple, married in 1973, grew up in the area and lived in North Carolina until moving back to the north country in 2006.
