Troopers: Madrid woman faces assault, weapon charges

MADRID — A woman accused of menacing another person with a baseball bat had to be subdued with a stun gun when she tried to flee from officers, state police said.

Troopers said they received a report that Erin J. White, 26, Madrid, was armed with a baseball bat and tried to gain entrance to a Dailey Ridge Road residence late Thursday afternoon.

When police arrived Ms. White was gone, but U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents pulled her over a short time later on Route 310.

Ms. White backed her vehicle into a state police car, troopers said, and tried to flee. She was taken into custody after being jolted by border agents using a taser.

She was arrested at 6:17 p.m. Thursday and charged with assault with a weapon intending to cause physical injury, second-degree menacing with a weapon, second-degree reckless endangerment, criminal mischief with intent to damage property, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree harassment with physical contract and fourth-degree criminal possession of a firearm.

Ms. White was arraigned in Norfolk Town Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
