MASSENA Adam M. Deleel, 26, of 90 E. Hatfield St., Apt. 32, was charged with burglary and possession of burglar tools by state police at 10:43 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Deleel allegedly used a hammer and pry bar to try to break into J&J Auto Sales, 2241 Route 420. He was heard by Jeffery M. Rush II, the owners son, who was in the building working on a car, police said. Mr. Rush called troopers, who arrested Mr. Deleel in the vicinity soon after.
He was taken to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $2,500 bail.
