The Salmon River boys and Massena Central girls posted matching road wins against NAC lacrosse rivals on Tuesday.

Salmon River 12, Potsdam 8: At the Potsdam turf field, the Shamrocks never led by more than three goals until the end.

“Everyone is playing us tough this year,” noted coach Jim Barnes his squad raised its undefeated record to 11-0. “I think the biggest difference for us has been our depth. We’ve had a lot of players contribute.”

Kason Tarbell anchored a balanced attack for Salmon River with two goals and three assists. Skylar Thomas generated four goals followed by Kyle Lewis with three while Dalston Day fashioned a goal and three helpers. Lakota Square and Sky Sunday connected for the other goals. Frank David logged a solo assist as the Shamrocks got off to a fast start with two goals in the opening minute of the game only to be held scoreless the rest of the first quarter while the Sandstoners countered with their first goal.

The Shamrocks went on to build a 7-5 halftime lead and were ahead 9-7 after three before outscoring the Sandstoners 3-1 in the fourth to seal the win.

The Potsdam offense also showed its balance as Hayden Hart, Garrett Kilgore and Chad Varney all struck for a pair of goals while Stephen Lewis (1 assist) and Kyle Grant each netted singletons. Chris Stone and Mike Maresca rounded out the Sandstoner effort with an assist each.

Kobi Johnson stood tall making 12 saves backstopping the win while Jason Cardinal turned aside 10 of the shots he faced working the Potsdam crease.

Both teams return to action on Thursday with Salmon River hosting Massena at 4:30 p.m. and the Sandstoners welcoming OFA for a 7 p.m. matchup.

Massena 12, OFA 8: In Ogdensburg, the Lady Raiders broke away from a 6-5 halftime lead to raise their NAC record to 7-1 heading into their regulr season rematch at undefeated Potsdam on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Erin Francis and Shannon Casey anchored the Massena attack with four goals apiece. Dominique Valancius struck for another three while Carlie Leary netted a singleton.

Mackenzie Bresett tallied four goals and an assist for the Lady Blue Devils. Kaitlin Sheppard (1 assist), Anna Couperus, Hunter Shaver and Nikki Holmes all broke through for solo goals.

Felicity Love made nine saves working the crease for the win while Erica Chase turned aside 11 shots in the losing cause.

Heuvelton 14, Salmon River 10: In Fort Covington, the Lady Bulldogs relayed a 7-4 halftime lead into their second win of the season over the Lady Shamrocks.

Jackie Sovie continued her torrid scoring pace for Heuvelton with seven goal. Olivia St. Pierre, Katie Lashomb and Ashlyn Piercey all contributed two goals while Heather Tarbell had seven stops in the win.

Tewasherake Barnes notched three goals for Salmon River. Kyra Thompson added a pair while Jaiden Mitchell, Vanna Thompson, Sequoya Chubb, Kaiekwinchlba Ransom each scored once. Courtney Tarbell made 12 saves in the losing cause.

The Lady Shamrocks are slated to host Canton today starting at 4:30 p.m.
