Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two individuals early Tuesday on charges of third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine after a traffic stop yielded what deputies described as laboratory equipment and precursors to the production of the controlled substance.

Deputies arrested Miranda L. Cronk, 26, of 6892 Erie Canal Road, Lowville, and Michael S. Hill, 33, of 19226 U.S. Route 11, Watertown, at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday on Route 12 in Burrville after they say they found plastic jars with tubing along with ephedrine, household drain cleaner, ice packs, Coleman camping fuel, and lithium batteries in the vehicle operated by the defendants.

Ms. Cronk and Mr. Hill are being held pending immediate arraignment, according to deputies.
