Hughes also made the Empire 8 championship’s all-tournament team this past weekend as she generated 10 points, including seven goals in two games, leading St. John Fisher to its second straight conference title with an 11-8 victory over Ithaca on Sunday.

The Cardinals earned the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament and will travel to play at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in a first-round game at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The 2012 Watertown High School graduate helped Tiffin (10-9, 6-2 conference) reach the GLIAC tournament championship game before suffering a season-ending 16-12 loss to Grand Valley State.
