Police: Watertown woman illegally had prescription drugs

Sommer R. Curry, 31, of 211 Gale St., was charged by city police Thursday night at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and appearance in public under the influence of narcotics.

Police said Ms. Curry appeared to be “intoxicated to the extent she may endanger herself” when she was under the influence of two prescription drugs, tramadol and clonazepam, during an incident May 4 in the parking lot of a State Street business.

She also is accused of being in possession of six tramadol pills and five pieces of Suboxone strips that were found in her purse. She did not have a prescription for the narcotics, police said.

She was given an appearance ticket for City Court.
