FA 6, OFA 2: In Malone, the host Lady Huskies clinched the Northern Athletic Conference Central Division title with a come-from-behind victory over the OFA in a game played in between the rain drops at Yonkoski Field in Malone.

FA’s Annie Sharlow picked up the win on the mound for the Huskies, limiting the Blue Devils to just two hits as the FA girls erased a 1-0 deficit and pulled away to their 10th victory of the season.

OFA took a 1-0 lead in the second inning to put the pressure on the undefeated Huskies. The FA girls responded in the home-half of the fourth inning with two runs to pull in front by one.

The Huskies, despite the rain, pushed four more runs across in the fifth innig to hole a 6-1 lead. OFA attempted to respond in the sixth, scoring once, but the threat ended as Sharlow fanned two batters and got the third on a pop up to stop the potential rally as FA improved to 10-0 and clinched the Central Division crown. The OFA Blue Devils fall to 6-3 in league play with three games remaining.

In pitching up the win, Sharlow allowed two hits with a pair of walks while striking out nine. The Blue Devils countered with Brittany Barr, who tossed the first four-plus innings and was lifted during Malone’s four-run fifth inning in favor of Felicity Barr. The duo combined to allow eight hits, one walk with six strikeouts.

The Huskies were led offensively by Erin McDonald and Morgan Fountain. McDonald finished with three runs batted on a 2-for-3 performance while Fountain stroked a pair of long doubles to left field. McDonald drove in a run in FA’s two-run fourth and had 2 RBIs in the four-run fifth.
