Some people argue that children would be afraid of seeing an armed guard at their schools. Children are not afraid of an armed guard since they play video games, watch TV shows and movies with guns and violence daily.

If we are going to have gun-free zones, then the schools, hospitals, theaters, etc. should have armed guards. You find this at the courthouse. Then why is it not feasible for schools to have armed guards? This is where our children are most vulnerable. You say the budget does not allow this, well trim the budget.

We need to request money from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s $37 million SAFE Act’s budget for this vital necessity. Let’s make this our “message of necessity” to Cuomo: safe gun-free zones.
