Norfolk woman named Dunkin Donuts Red Cross Volunteer of Month

POTSDAM - The American Red Cross of Northern New York is proud to award three volunteers with the “Dunkin’ Donuts Volunteer of the Month” award for the first quarter of 2013.

Each award recipient received a $25 Dunkin’ Donuts gift card, courtesy of Roy Clark, Dunkin’ Donuts franchise owner.

Dale Roberts, a native of Lewis County, is the “Dunkin’ Donuts Volunteer of the Month” for January 2013. Dale has been a volunteer with the Northern New York Chapter since 2008, serving as a member of the Board of Directors. A detective for the Lewis County Sherriff’s Department, Dale says he saw firsthand the aid and comfort the Red Cross provides to victims, which in turn made him want to volunteer for the organization. Due to Dale’s Lewis County ties, his help was instrumental in another successful “Dunkin’ Donuts” collection box campaign in Lowville.

Jeremy Smith of Watertown was named the “Dunkin’ Donuts Volunteer of the Month” for February 2013. Jeremy has been an office volunteer with the Northern New York Chapter for a year and a half now, serving as an assistant to the Program Coordinator. An Allied Health major at Jefferson Community College, Jeremy joined the Red Cross not only to help the people of Northern New York, but also in an effort to build his resume. Jeremy will be leaving for Utica College in the Fall where he has been accepted into the nursing program.

Angela Blair, of Norfolk is the “Dunkin’ Donuts Volunteer of the Month” for March 2013. Angela has been a volunteer member of the Disaster Action Team (D.A.T.) for almost a year now. As part of the D.A.T. team, Angela responds to disasters such as house fires, and provides assistance and comfort to our clients.
