PHILADELPHIA A reckless U-turn on Route 11 near the intersection with Route 29 resulted in major damage to two vehicles and sent two people to the hospital Friday afternoon, according to Jefferson County sheriffs deputies.
Deputies said that at 12:26 p.m., Cody B. Robinson, Jr., 27, Elizabeth, Ky., executed a U-turn while northbound on Route 11 and pulled back out into the southbound lane in front of a CSX truck driven by Timothy C. Stinson, 55, Lacona, causing major damage to both vehicles.
Mr. Stinson was the sole occupant of his vehicle. He reported no injuries at the scene.
Mr. Robinsons vehicle was occupied by three passengers. Two reported injuries.
Mr. Robinson was taken to Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, for treatment. He had been discharged as of late Friday afternoon.
A female passenger, Sandy L. Smith II, was flown to Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. Her condition was listed as good Friday evening.
Mr. Robinson was cited with illegally entering the roadway.
