CHAUMONT — Mr. and Mrs. John A. Peters, 15467 Case Road, are observing their 50th wedding anniversary today.

Mr. Peters, son of the late Maurice W. and Ina M. Constance Peters, and Carolyn J. Goutremout, daughter of the late Donald G. and Anna Lee Goutremout, were married on May 18, 1963, at All Saints Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald A. Sharland officiating. Honor attendants were Joyce Ludden, Williamson, cousin of the bride, and David J. Peters, Cape Vincent, brother of the groom.

Mr. Peters graduated in 1956 from Lyme Central School, Chaumont, and in 1958 from Canton Agricultural and Technical College. He is a retired self-employed dairy farmer.

Mrs. Peters graduated in 1959 from Lyme Central School and in 1961 from Watertown School of Commerce. She worked at Knowlton Brothers Paper Co., Watertown, for four years. Mrs. Peters was a homemaker and worked on the family farm.

Mr. and Mrs. Peters are life members of Northern New York Agricultural Historical Society (NNYAHS), Stone Mills, communicants of St. Anthony’s Church, Watertown, and enjoy traveling on bus trips, spending time with family and gardening.

The couple has two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa P. and David Judson, Dublin, Ohio, and Mary P. and Matthew Timerman, LaFargeville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Lori, Brian and Dana, and Kyle and Stephanie, all of Chaumont; and 21 grandchildren.
