MORLEY - June F. ONeill, former state Democratic Committee chairwoman and former St. Lawrence County Democratic Committee chairwoman, has been appointed by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo to serve as north county regional representative.
Mrs. ONeill, of Morley, will begin Thursday and will serve in her new position alongside Clifford Donaldson, who will continue to serve as co-representative based out of the Lake Placid office.
Olympia Sonnier, a spokeswoman for the governor, could not confirm where Mrs. ONeill will be based, though she said Mrs. ONeill will largely cover the western portion of the north country.
Mrs. ONeill has also worked with the state Comptrollers Office since 2011, where she fostered communications with employers who pay into the states pension system.
Until 2011, Mrs. ONeill served as the vice chairwoman of the St. Lawrence County Democratic Committee and chairwoman of the state Democratic Committee.
Messages left for Mrs. ONeill were not returned.
