Notable Donation: March Brown, South Jefferson Central School, Adams, employee, was the winner of the 50/50 raffle held at the Spring Fling and hosted by Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) Local 823. Ms. Brown donated $179 to the Jefferson County SPCA. The Rev. Doug Marlow SPCA director, received the donation on behalf of the organization.

Receives scholarship: Alexander Farrell, graduating senior at Ogdensburg Free Academy, recently received a $300 math/science award from the Franklin-St. Lawrence NYSUT/UUP Retirees. Mr. Farrell, son of Michael Farrell, Ogdensburg, and Penny Dardaris, Endicott, plans to attend SUNY Brockport to major in physical education. He hopes to teach physical education, adaptive physical education, leading to a career as a high school athletic director.

Receives master’s degree: Carrie Hall, daughter of Jon and Karen Hall, Watertown, received a master’s degree in music on May 5 from Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Ms. Hall graduated with honors in 2005 from Watertown High School and received a bachelor’s degree with honors in music in 2009 from Ithaca College. She is currently on leave from Oneonta Central School District, where she teaches elementary music.

Honored: Belinda G. Jones, Fort Drum, and Vidhi V. Udeshi, Watertown, both students at Jefferson Community College, Watertown, were named to the All-New York Academic Team for Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for community colleges. Ms. Jones, who received an associate’s degree in human services from JCC in 2012, has a grade point average of 4.0 and will receive an associates degree in humanities and social sciences. Ms. Udeshi, a 2011 graduate of Watertown High School, has a grade point average of 3.44 and will receive an associate’s degree in business administration.
