CANTON - The Renewal House 20th annual Mothers Day 5K Fun Run and Walk was recently held at the Remington Recreation Trail, Partridge Run Golf Course.
There were 33 participants and 25 sponsors who helped raise $3,965. All money received supports domestic violence and sexual assault services to victims in St. Lawrence County.
There was one grand prize – a Dyson all floors vacuum cleaner donated by Sears in Potsdam, given to the person who raised the most money. That prize was won by Colleen Stone of Norwood. A prize was also awarded to the first woman, man, girl and boy (12 and under) to cross the finish line. The winners were: Kelli Newman, Rensselaer Falls, 26:31; John Greene, Massena, 28:48; Abby Fawcett, Potsdam, 43:16; and Cullen Fawcett, Gouverneur 40:53.
