Gouverneur sweeps OFA in track-field


GOUVERNEUR - Host Gouverneur had the will and “The Way” to defeat OFA 148-93, on Wednesday, to claim second place on the final day of the NAC Track-Field season.

Anthony Way led 1-2 finishes in the 100 and 200 meter dashes and finished 1-2-3 in the 110 and the 400 hurdles for the Wildcats (9-1) who also received 1600-3200 meter distance double from Jake Erdman who also ran on the winning 4x800 relay team.

Spencer Knowles led a 1-2-3 placing in the shot put for the Wildcats who also received first place finishes from: Zachary Finnerty in the long jump and the 4x800 and 4x100 relay teams.

Gouverneur also won the Girls Meet posting a 163.83-135.17 victory.

Taylor Bouchard led the high jump and the triple jump for OFA (8-2) and also placed second in the long jump. Alex Wood led the 800 run and Donovan Smith led the 400 dash and ran on the winning 4x400 relay with Andrew Colburn, Collin Sovie and Bailey Phelps.

Individual second place finishes in the OFA cause came from Wood in the 100 and 1600 runs, Russ Jacquith in the discus throw, and Colburn in the 200.


Gabby Dunkelberg rendered a maximum mileage effort for the Lady Cats as she won the 800, 1500 and 3000 meter runs and ran on the winning 4x800 relay.

Rachel Knowlton led the 100 hurdles, the triple jump and finished in a three-way tie for first place in the high jump for Gouverneur which secured 10 first places. Caroline Leslie ran on 4x800 and 4x400 relays wins, Danielle McCormick paced the discus throw, Kirstin Roberts paced for the shot put.

Nikki Duprey finished as a triple medalist for OFA leading the 100 and 200 dashes and sharing in the high jump first place tie with teammate Chelsea Montroy and Gouverneur’s Knowlton.

Charlotte Miller led the long jump, Ellen Miller paced the 400 hurdles and Kurstyn Macaulay led the 400 dash. Individual second places for the Devils came from: Charlotte Miller (100, LJ), Macaulay (1500, 800), Markie Willard (200) and Sarah Mitchell (3000).
