POTSDAM - The Potsdam Central baseball team cruised past Salmon River into the Section 10 Class B title game but will have to wait for an opponent.
The Sandstoners scored 10 times in the second en route to claiming a 16-0, five-inning decision over the Shamrocks in thesemi-finals on Thursday but the Gouverneur at OFA game was postponed to Monday at 2 p.m. The winner of that game will take on Potsdam in the Class B final slated for next Wednesday at Clarksons Jack Phillips Stadium starting at 4:30 p.m.
Ben Miller fanned seven and allowed two hits over the first four innings to log the win. Will Coleman pitched a hitless fifth inning of relief where he recorded two strikeouts. Jared Gray was tagged with the loss.
Trevor Keleher went 3-3 with a triple, RBI and four runs scored while Miller finished 3-4 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored to anchor the potent Potsdam offense. Coleman was 2-3 with two RBI and three runs scored while Brandon Noble was 3-4 effort with three RBI and two runs scored. Mark Maroney (RBI), Morgan Sutliff, Andrew Ace, Nate Gringrich and Connor Prosper each singled.
Burt Gray and Tee Brooks connected for the Salmon River (3-11) hits.
