Adams thrift shop to sell hot dogs in effort to stay open

ADAMS — About a week before its scheduled eviction, the Hearthstone Ministries Thrift Store will sell hot dogs today in an attempt to raise enough money to stay open.

The fundraiser will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the store, 11 Church St.

The building was sold last month. Store owners William A. Sampson and the Rev. Susan M. Sampson were informed by a letter from the property’s owner, Peggy A. Brouty, who owns it through P.A.B. Enterprises.

They are scheduled to be evicted at the end of May. Mr. Sampson said Wednesday that they have had no success contacting Ms. Brouty to discuss the eviction.

The store will also accept donations to an account at the Northern Federal Credit Union.
