Horse missing in Pierrepont

PIERREPONT — A Pierrepont family is baffled over the whereabouts of its horse, which disappeared nearly three weeks ago.

Christine Taylor described returning home with her family May 20 and hearing another of their horses in distress. When they went to investigate, they discovered that Ed, a large Belgian workhorse, was gone.

“He just disappeared. There’s no horse tracks. There’s no broken fence,” Ms. Taylor said.

Neighbors reported seeing a horse wandering nearby soon after the disappearance, but Ed still has not been found.

“It will be three weeks on Monday,” Ms. Taylor said.

Ed, described as chestnut-colored, is retired from an Amish farm. He vanished from Taylor Road in West Pierrepont.

Anyone with information about the horse’s whereabouts is asked to call David and Christine Taylor at 379-9814, or Mindy Taylor at 386-4049.
