Three ejected after Jeep flips over in the town of Clayton

CLAYTON — Three men were injured Monday night when their Jeep flipped over on County Route 5 and they all were ejected from the vehicle.

Philip P. Carnegie, 23, of 38428 Route 12E, was driving north about 9:30 p.m. when he lost control of the 1996 Jeep, which crossed the roadway, struck a ditch and flipped, Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies said.

He and two passengers — Garrett M. Cipullo, 20, and Ryan P. Youngs, 29 — were taken by a private vehicle to River Hospital, Alexandria Bay.

Mr. Carnegie, who suffered chest pain, and Mr. Youngs, who suffered an eye injury, then were taken by helicopter to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, where they were listed as stable.

Mr. Cipullo was treated at River Hospital and released.
