The Ogdensburg City School District presented its Outstanding Senior Athlete Awards as the climax to the 2013 Block O Awards Night sponsored and hosted by the Block Booster Club on Monday night.
Sitting from left are: Shannon Tooley who received the Marilyn (May) Ferguson Memorial Award which goes to a well-rounded female student-athlete who has made positive contributions to the Interscholastic Athletic program, Emily Switzer and Tyler Knowlton who received the OFA Varsity Coaching Staff Awards which are presented to a female and male athlete who display outstanding sportsmanship and a positive attitude, Pat Cosmo who received the James A. Pinkerton Memorial Award which is presented to a well-rounded senior male student-athlete who has made positive contributions to the Interscholastic Athletic Program, Felicia Barr who received the Carolyn Elliott Memorial Award and Andrew Cole who received the James P. Seymour Memorial Award. The Carolyn Elliott and James P. Seymour Memorial Awards are presented to an outstanding male and female student-athlete who embody leadership in athletic and school activities, scholarship with above average competence in athletics, service with an awareness and concern for others as well as excellence in athletics while exhibiting genuine interest and demonstrating sportsmanship.
