CANTON The St. Lawrence County Board of Legislators will have a special meeting at 5:20 p.m. Monday before its Services Committee meeting to authorize funding to assist the St. Lawrence Local Government Task Force for the 10-year review of the St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project agreements relicensing.
The board also could act on a plan for tribal state compact funds.
Board Chairman Jonathan S. Putney, D-Waddington, is expected to appoint an ad hoc committee of Democratic legislators who will make recommendations to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Legislator Stephen M. Putman, D-Canton. Mr. Putman stepped down to enroll in the state pension system because of his retirement as St. Lawrence Central School District superintendent. Legislators are likely to recommend Mr. Putman be appointed to his former seat.
