The Watertown Red and Black semipro football team will play its first preseason game at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.
The Red and Black will host the Central Penn Piranhas, out of Pennsylvania. The Piranhas have won three national championships and seven league titles in their 18 years of existence.
Watertown (8-4 last year) and ended its season with a 20-13 loss to Plattsburgh in the Empire Football League semifinals. The Red and Black will begin regular season play on July 13 at the Syracuse Shock.
■ The Watertown Revolution is scheduled to play its second game of the Northeastern Football Alliance regular season against the Finger Lakes Impact at 7 p.m. Saturday at Waterloo High School.
Watertown is 2-0 after an 18-12 victory over Cortland at Carthage High School last Saturday. The team was awarded a forfeit victory in week one.
The Revolution, which finished 1-8 last year, will compete in the NFA East A Division this season with Cortland and Finger Lakes.
