Three taken to hospital after two-vehicle crash on State Street

Three people were taken to Samaritan Medical Center after a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon .

City police said the crash took place at 3:21 p.m. when Claud R. Bodle, 39, of 10506 Aubel Road, Carthage, drove through a red light while traveling east on State Street. His vehicle hit the vehicle of Jessica E. Bare, 23, of 341 Arlington St., who was headed south on High Street with a green light.

The two cars spun, with Mr. Bodle’s car coming to rest after hitting the pole for a nearby gas station, causing minor damage to the pole.

Ms. Bare, complaining of pain, was taken to the hospital, while two minor passengers in her vehicle were taken there as a precaution. Mr. Bodle was not injured in the crash.

He was charged with running a red light, while police charged Ms. Bare with driving with only a permit.
