WADDINGTON – Lannings Marine Service at Coles Creek Marina and Boat Launch, 13153 Route 37, is nearing the end of construction on its new building, but boaters can still enjoy all its new amenities.
The business is owned by Steven E. Lanning, Waddington, operating at Coles Creek Marina through a contract with the state. The family-operated service station has a new manager, new staff, shop, store, and mens and womens restrooms and showers.
The service stations store will offer camping supplies, snacks, food, ice, bait, and boat accessories.
Outside, there are 66 electrical and non-electrical slips on transit and seasonal docks, which are also scheduled to be renovated this year. Spaces are already filling up for the summer, manager Katelyn R. Lanning said.
Were pretty full right now, Ms. Lanning said. We have one or two dock slips available for electric boats.
Seasonal docking contracts are active until Oct. 15.
The stations services include washing, waxing, cleaning and boat bottom painting. A full-service mechanic is on site five days a week. The marina also offers boat winterization and storage.
The dock and launch, located less than half a mile from Coles Creek Campground, features picnic tables with fire pits and charcoal girls for visitors just looking to sit by the river.
I dont think theres really any marina as secluded as ours east of Hammond and Morristown, except for Malone, Ms. Lanning said. Its gorgeous, private and safe.
The service station is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
Lannings will be celebrating its grand opening all day July 7.
