Massena S&L, CJ-Chip’s Place net Men’s Summer Soccer wins


Ogdensburg AMP-Jreck Sub’s cruised past SeaComm 8-2 and Ogdensburg Pepsi-The Place outscored Frary Funeral Home 4-1 in Sunday’s action from the North Country Men’s Soccer Association action. The St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union’s game at CKON-Signs and Stitches was postponed.

In other action Massena Savings and Loan outlasted S&L Electric while CJ’s-Chip’s Place blanked Hoot Owl-North Country Savings Bank.

Massena S&L 4, S&L Electric 3: Brandon Albert produced a natural hattrick to spark the host team to the win. Ryan Chauvin finished with a goal and assist while Neil Mancktelow and Dalton Mullin each tallied solo assists.

Devin Gruneisen netted a pair of goals in the losing cause while Mike Murray broke through for a singleton. Alex Bonno and Gyle Dominy both logged an assist. Alan Davis made 17 saves backstopping the win.

CJ’s-Chip’s Place 2, Hoot Owl-NCSB 0: Mark Misiak generated the only two goals of the game to lift the visitors. Grant Sharlow and Shawn Lillie drew assists while Ben Steinberg handled the nine shots he faced to post the shutout.

Tom Also made 12 saves working the crease in the loss.

AMP-Jreck Subs 8, SeaComm 2: The visiting squad scored the first eight goals led by Bebonchu Atems with four. Matt Bertinato netted a pair while Siahr Siddiq and Mike Yehdego each struck for singletons. Jordan Kendall got SeaComm on the board when he converted off an assist from Carson Smith. Matt Kendall finished off a play set up by Peter Johnson for the only goal of the second half. Sasha Tokarev made five saves in the winning effort. Jordan Kendall (7 saves) and Mike Morgan (11 saves) combined to work the SeaComm crease.

Pepsi-The Place 4, Frary’s 1: In a meeting of Ogdensburg squads at the Kennedy School field, Grant Prudhomme scored twice while Jordan Decker and Nate Peo each connected for solo goals to spark the win while Mike O’Neil produced two assists and Jake Sias made nine saves.
