The number one and three seeds will meet tonight in Heuvelton at 6 p.m. for the playoff championship of the Ogdensburg Kiwanis Girls Softball League after posting exciting semi-final victories.

Top seeded Heuvelton AmVets prevailed over the Hammond Red Devils 5-3 and third seeded Julie’s Dance Studio outscored Blue Heron Realty 14-9 in seven innings

Julie’s Dance 14, Blue Heron 9: In a duel of late inning scoring bursts, Julie’s took a 9-7 lead in the top of the sixth and then scored five runs in the top of the seventh after Blue Heron gained a 9-9 tie in the bottom of the sixth.

Natalie Crofut and Rileigh Planty struck out nine pitching victory and Planty led the offense with a pair of triples and including a decisive three-bagger in the top of the seventh.

Claire Rishe, Olivia McRoberts, Teeghan Bell and Aubrey Love all doubled for the winners and Hailey Reed and Sierra LaFlair singled.

Natalie McCormick and Courtney Baker pitched for Blue Heron and Eve House turned over a double play.

Darrien Snyder led the BH offense with a single and a double.

AmVets 5, Red Devils 3: Kelsey Williams and Maddison McCormick excelled on the mound for the AmVets fanning 13 and Molly Williams went 2-2 and Kelsey Williams went 2-2 with three RBIs to lead the offense. Chloe Combs and Celia Henry each had an RBI and Emily Streeter and Josie Carter were very solid behind the plate.

Alecia Parrow, Morgan Howie and Taylor Arquitt fanned six batters for Hammond. Arquitt also stroked an RBI single along with Avery Kenyon. Alvia Crosby went 1-1 and Kelsey Williams turned in a strong game at shortstop.
