George J. Corrice,74, of Avon, passed away June 17, 2013. He was born July 28, 1938, in Ogdensburg, NY, to the late George Albert and Elva J. McNally Corrice.

George served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was employed with Yellow Freight for 30 years, retiring in 1998. George was a member of Teamsters Local #135, a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, and attended St. Susanna Catholic Church, Plainfield.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 20, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. with funeral services Thursday at 10:00 a.m.

George is survived by his loving sons, Tony Corrice (Susan) and Ron Corrice (Kim); grandchildren, Kalyn, Jenna, Zach and McKale Corrice; great-grandson, Luca Owen; and siblings, Mary L. McDonald, Anthony J. Corrice, Ronald A. “Joe” Corrice, Frederick R. Corrice, Loretta Ann Cooke and Betty J. Chambers. All of George’s surviving siblings reside in Ogdensburg, NY.

A daughter, Margie Ann Corrice; a brother, Arthur G. Corrice; and two sisters, Jeanette Daly and Marjorie Ann Corrice, preceded him in death.
