LOWVILLE- Michael J. Falton Jr., 74, of Ridge Road, Lowville, died Tuesday evening, June 18, 2013 at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility.

The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Keith W. Hardy Jr. pastor of Bethel Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Beaches Bridge Cemetery. A luncheon at Betel Church of the Nazarene Fellowship Hall, will follow the burial. Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the funeral home with an Elk’s service at 7:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Fund for Hope, Lewis County General Hospital, 7785 N. State Street, Lowville, NY 13367.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Bethany; three children, Elizabeth and Corey Favreau of Springfield, Massachusetts, Christopher and Sandra Falton of Saco, Maine, Michael J. and Rhonda Falton of Stuttgart, Germany; four grandchildren, Cody, Kaitlyn, Alyssa and Kylie; two step-sons and their wives, David and Kimberly Lambert and their son, Brandon, of New Bremen, Dennis and Tammie Lambert of Castorland; a sister, Rose Weinrich of Mt. Carmel, PA; a brother, Edward Falton of Danville, PA; nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his wife, Rebecca Falton, who died in 1986.

Michael was born on April 9, 1939 in Mt. Carmel, PA, a son of the late Michael J. Sr. and Helen Sadja Falton. He attended school in Mount Carmel and drove lumber truck before enlisting in the Army. He met his first wife and had three children. He served in the U.S. Army from November 29, 1963 to October 30, 1967 and the New Jersey Army National Guard, a total of 37 years, serving mostly at Ft. Drum, NY. He married Bethany Lambert on May 22, 1993 at the Beaver Falls United Methodist Church, just before his retirement.

He was a member of BPOE #1605, Lowville Lodge, Beaver River Memorial Post #1663, Croghan American Legion, and an associate member of Marine Corps League Det. #754. Michael was very active, and kept busy tinkering. He enjoyed helping the Marine Corps. and Lowville Elks with projects. Michael was always there when anyone needed help, putting aside his own, to help others. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and feeding the birds.
