WILNA The Town Council approved using $64,800 in Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program money to resurface Rogers Crossing Road during a special meeting Monday night.
Last year, the town paved the road from West Street to Texas Road and will continue the paving to the Lewis County line, which is about a mile, according to Highway Superintendent Patrick J. OMeara. The work will be done through an in-kind services agreement with Jefferson County.
Board members also approved the superintendent for an additional $10,000 to stabilize the shoulders and replace the culvert pipes as needed on Staie Road.
In other business, the board approved $250 in financial support to the Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce for the July 6 fireworks display.
