High school football: TWC to televise 2 games involving FL teams

Time Warner Cable Sports will televise two high school football games involving Frontier League teams as part of its 2013 Thursday-Friday night schedule this upcoming season.

Time Warner Sports begins the season on Thursday, Sept. 5 when it broadcasts the Watertown at East Syracuse-Minoa Class A crossover game beginning at 6:30 p.m.

On Friday, Oct. 11, Time Warner will show the Indian River at Carthage Class A American contest, which begins at 7 p.m.

In all, seven Thursday night and six Friday night games are on the schedule. An additional Friday night game on Oct. 18 will also be selected.

The Section 3 playoffs, which begin Oct. 18 and conclude with the finals on Nov. 1 and 2 in the Carrier Dome, will also be available on Time Warner Sports.

Section 3 executive director John Rathbun said the plan is to televise teams from every classification and from every area, including Syracuse, Watertown and Utica. He said Thursday nights are for rivalry games and Friday nights are the game of the week.
