OGDENSBURG — Gavin M. Regan of Potsdam is the newest member of the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority board.

Mr. Regan, 51, was nominated to the seven-member board by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo. His nomination was confirmed by the state Senate on Friday.

“I‘m very excited to be appointed to the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority,” he said Tuesday. “It’s an honor.”

Mr. Regan served for a brief time as St. Lawrence County clerk when former Clerk Patricia A. Ritchie was elected to the Senate. The Democrat lost the post in an election against Republican Mary Lou Rupp.

Mr. Regan is manager of the Massena branch office of Key Bank. He replaces Mary Farley, whose term expired in at the end of 2010.

Mr. Regan said he was confident that his background in finance would enable him to contribute to the OBPA’s mission of furthering regional economic development.

“It’s very important to growth and job creation in Northern New York,” he said.

The other sitting OBPA board members are: Samuel LaMacchia, chairman, appointed in February 2008 and recently reappointed; Frederick J. Carter Sr., vice chairman, who was first appointed in June 1993; Douglas W. Loffler, secretary, appointed in June 2011; Donald J. Hooper, treasurer, who was appointed February 2006 and whose term expires Dec. 31, 2014; Steven J. Barlow, assistant treasurer, appointed in June 2009 and whose term expires Dec. 31, and Ramona A. Breen, assistant secretary, appointed in May 2009 and whose term expires Dec. 31.
