Ford Street is again the address of the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerces monthly Gateways and Corridors residential and business honorees for facade improvement.
The honorees for July are the home of Edward C. and Katherine O. Dana, of 2127 Ford St., and Cobblestone Gifts, recently relocated at 1409 Ford St.
The Gateways and Corridors honor recognizes commitments by residents, business owners and the city to improve the appearance of Ogdensburgs main thoroughfares and make them attractive to visitors, potential homeowners and investors.
The Danas have lived at 2127 Ford St. since October and are still smartening up their freshly landscaped, ranch-style home, including a new rear deck.
I think its a great honor, Mrs. Dana said Thursday. We love it here.
Mr. Dana, a semi-retired nurse, was a grounds worker at St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center for 20 years. So all this award-winning home improvement has been no chore for him.
I enjoy it immensely, he said.
Cobblestone Gifts relocated in November to 1409 Ford St. It previously occupied 809 Ford St., where it was for 16 years.
The smartly decorated windows caught the chambers attention.
Were doing great, said co-owner Rick J. Griffith. We really appreciate it.
