Watson man pleads innocent to killing son

LOWVILLE — A town of Watson man on Friday pleaded innocent to charges that he killed his son last month with a shotgun.

Lyle F. Davoy Sr., 56, of 9520 Stillwater Road, was arraigned in Lewis County Court on charges of second-degree murder, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree criminal use of a firearm, stemming from a grand jury indictment handed down last week.

His case was adjourned to Aug. 16, with a possible trial date set for Oct. 15.

Judge Daniel R. King sent him back to Lewis County jail, with bail set at $100,000 cash or $200,000 bond.

Davoy was accused of shooting his son, Lyle F. Davoy Jr., 29, in the upper torso with a 20-gauge shotgun on the night of May 13 outside a Stillwater Road residence, causing the young Mr. Davoy’s death.
