CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - MASSENA - Village police charged James M. Hayes, 22, of 1 Pratt Place, Apt. 1, Massena, with fourth-degree criminal mischief at 3:47 p.m. Saturday at the Massena Creative Playground. Police said Hayes punched and shattered the windshield on a 2003 Ford Windstar that had been driven to the playground by his stepsister, Dorothy Brown. The van was registered to Browns boyfriend. Police said the incident was relate to a family dispute that had taken place earlier in the day.
BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Shawn R. Mitchell, 37, of 18 Park Ave., Apt. D, Massena, on a bench warrant held by state police from Norfolk Town Court following a traffic stop at 3:27 p.m. Saturday on Lincoln Place at Park Avenue. He was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He was turned over to state police on the warrant.
HYPODERMIC NEEDLES - MASSENA - Village police charged Shannon L. Brown, 36, of state Route 420, Massena, and Amber B. Cook, 26, of 329 state Route 37, Hogansburg, with possession of hypodermic needles at 5 p.m. Friday following a traffic stop in the Walmart parking lot. Brown was additionally charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
