FORGED INSTRUMENT - HOPKINTON - Massena-based state police charged Dean M. Lamphere, 42, of 2928C state Route 11B,Hopkinton and Danielle C. LaPage, 32, of Nicholville with multiple counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument stemming from an investigation into a complaint launched on June 9. The couple reported issued checks on an account with insufficient funds in the towns of Hopkinton and Lawrence and the village of Massena.
Troopers said one check was cashed at the North Lawrence IGA, three were cashed at the Twin Pines gas station in Nicholville and the remainder were passed in the village of Massena.
Both arrests were made at 2914 state Route 11B Saturday afternoon.
Lamphere was charged with four counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and released under the supervision of the probation department.
LaPage was charged with 12 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument. She was arraigned by Judge Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with no bail. The local court was unable to set bail as LaPage has two prior felony convictions.
ASSAULT - RUSSELL - Star Lake-based state police charged Frederick J. Davis, 49, of Chase Mills with third-degree assault and criminal mischief Saturday stemming from an investigation into an incident reported June 25 from the town of Russell.
ISSUING BAD CHECK - FORT COVINGTON - Malone-based state police charged Tiffany A. Johnston, 40, of Burke with two counts of issuing a bad check Saturday morning stemming from a complaint made to troopers at 7 p.m. June 1 in the town of Fort Covington.
AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT - MOIRA - Malone-based state police charged Bobby E. Pecore, 50, of Constable with second-degree aggravated harassment Saturday afternoon stemming from a complaint made to troopers at 4 p.m. June 25 from the town of Moira.
UNLAWFUL POSSESSION - MALONE - Malone-based state police charged Tyler M. Hewitt, 21, of Bombay with unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop at 8:17 p.m. Saturday on Route 11 in town of Malone.
PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - MASSENA - State police from around the region investigated a number of property damage accidents around the region on Saturday. Among those were:
■ Paul J. Tufo, 45, of Watertown at 9:37 p.m. on Route 56, near Old State Road, in the town of Potsdam.
■ Ryan R. Bousseau, 19, of Malone at 7:55 p.m. on state Route 37, near Woolen Mills Road, in the town of Fort Covington.
DWI - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Nolan P. Jacobs, 30, of Hogansburg with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop at 10:26 a.m. Sunday on the North Racquette River Road in the town of Massena.
DWI - OSWEGATCHIE - Ogdensburg-based state police charged Dwight B. Bero, 25, of 212 Helena Road, Hogansburg with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop at 4:15 a.m. Saturday on state Route 37 in the town of Oswegatchie. Troopers said they stopped Bero after they observed him crossing onto the shoulder and crossing the center line and entering the westbound lane when he was travelling eastbound on Route 37. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.13 percent.
DWI - NORFOLK - Massena-based state police charged Michael C. Dihrberg, 23, of 1655 County Route 38, Norfolk with driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana and ticketed him for unsafe backing at 7:01 p.m. Friday following a traffic stop on Grantville Road.
HARASSMENT - WADDINGTON - Massena-based state police charged Kevin H. Oshier, 50, of Waddington with second-degree harassment following an incident reported at 3:54 p.m. Friday from the town of Waddington.
