St. Lawrence NYSARC recently conducted its 33rd Annual Fundraiser June 28 at the Potsdam Elks Lodge, selling 4,258 certificates for a gross profit of $36,050.
Kristen Karem of Worcester, Mass., won the grand prize of $10,000 cash.
Sponsors for the event included Kinney Drugs Foundation, Team Blevins, Casella Waste, and Tracys Used Cars.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will support Dodge Pond, a fully accessible camp designed specifically for people with disabilities. Each year, more than 300 people enjoy vacationing in an environment specially equipped and staffed for their individual needs.
Our fund raising efforts are only successful because of support from local business partners with prize donations and from community members who purchase tickets, St. Lawrence NYSARC CEO Daphne Pickert said. Thanks to all of you - we can offer a safe, outdoor experience suited for people with disabilities; even during these challenging economic times.
