Raymond C. Simmons, 61 40368 Avery Rd., died Saturday morning at home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Born in Carthage on July 4, 1952, the son of Isaac & Rosemary Gill Simmons. He served in the United States Army for a short time. He was a skilled ironworker, and belonged to the Local #322 Labor Union and has worked on various projects in the North Country, including the 1000 Islands Bridge and the St. Lawrence Seaway. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his children; Raymond Simmons, Natural Bridge, Stacey Simmons, Adams and Ramanda Simmons, Carthage. Also surviving are his siblings, Craig, Lou, Michael, Bobby and Debbie, several grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brothers, Ike and Edmund.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 10th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Natural Bridge. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 -7 PM.
