Nancy K. Coburn, 83, of Watertown passed away in Watertown on Saturday, July 6, 2013.

The funeral will be 11 am Thursday, July 11th at the Bethany United Methodist Church, Lynde St., with Pastor Jane Eastham officiating. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY. Calling hours are Wednesday, July 10th from 4 pm - 7 pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, State St., Watertown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethany United Methodist Church at 214 West Lynde Street, Watertown, New York 13601.

She was born in Auburn on February 16, 1930 to Samuel and Naomi Kramer . Nancy graduated from Syracuse Central High School and attended Central City Business Institute. She then worked as a secretary for Smith Corona before marrying the late Richard G. Coburn in 1951. They relocated to Albany where she worked as a secretary working her way up to executive secretary for Sterling Winthrop Research Institute. She and her family eventually moved back to the Syracuse area where she was employed as an executive secretary with General Electric until her retirement in 1988. After her retirement she relocated to the Watertown area and became a very active and devoted member of the Bethany United Methodist Church as well as an active participant in the Senior Water Aerobics class at the Watertown YMCA. She loved animals, gardening, crafts and spending time with family and friends.

Nancy is survived by two children and their spouses: Steven D. Coburn and Lynn O. Coburn of Brooklyn, New York; Christine C. Ramus and John E. Ramus of Watertown, New York. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Brett E. Ramus; John A. Ramus; and Maxwell R. Coburn. Nancy was predeceased in her death by her parents as well as a sister Doris K. Trautman and her husband Donald C. Trautman.
