CANTON - The Stillman Foote Running Club will hold the second race of the 2013 Summer Sunset 5K Series tonight at 7:30 p.m. on the Stillman Foote cross-country course on the St. Lawrence University campus.

In addition to the 5K race, a one-mile fun run will be held. Designed for young runners, walkers, and beginning runners, the one-mile event will begin at 7:15 p.m., prior to the 5K start. Competitors in all three one-mile runs will also receive T-shirts.

Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. across Park Street from the Augsbury Physical Education Center on the SLU campus. Series fee is $5.00 or $2.00 per race (US & Canadian). For further information contact Suna Stone-McMasters at (315) 229-5105 or

Hoswegatchie Duathlon

OGDENSBURG - Hosmer’s Marina in will host the second race in the inaugural Hoswegatchie Duathlon Series on Wednesday, July 10, starting at 6 p.m.

The third leag will be he held on August 14.

The race includes a 1.5 mile run followed by an 8 mile bike ride followed by a 1.5 mile run. The series, which is open to all participants ages13-up, is being staged in conjunction with Ogdensburg City Recreation Department and all proceeds are going to the OFA Marching Band.

The registration fee is $5 per race per person and two and three-person teams are encouraged. All entries will receive free refreshments at Hosmer’s Marina after each race.

Entry forms are available at Hosmer’s Marina, at the event’s other sponsors: Crow’s Sport Shop, the Ogdensburg Recreation Department office at the Ed Dobisky Visitors Center and Ogdensburg Pepsi Cola.
