This is in response to Burt Phillipss letter that was printed on June 15.
As I am sure you are aware, I did not choose the heading to my letter I submitted that was printed. The newspaper chooses the heading.
I would also like to point out that even though you are entitled to your opinion, you were not there and did not see the interaction. As my letter stated, we asked for a minute of Mrs. Russells time, not to receive a hearing. She was waiting for an elevator and had time to say hello.
I would like to know when elected representatives became so above their constituents that they have no time for them. I noticed you left out the part of the letter that spoke about how she did treat a constituent who did make an appointment and talked down to him also. Was that left out intentionally, or could you not defend Mrs. Russells actions on that one?
They work for us, not vice versa. I guess my point was whether we made an appointment or tried to talk to her in the hallway, we were treated the same, very poorly. To me, that is not acceptable from any representative.
