COOPERSTOWN — The streaking Watertown Rams swept the Cooperstown Hawkeyes in a doubleheader on Thursday, 8-5 and 8-0, in Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League play at Doubleday Field.

The Rams, who have won four consecutive games, improved to 18-13 and boosted their lead in the West Division to two games over Elmira. Watertown has also won five of its past six games and 13 of 16.

The Rams are 4-0 on the road during Jefferson County Fair week, outscoring their opponents, 32-13.

The Hawkeyes (11-15), who occupy last place in the East Division, lost their seventh straight.

Watertown’s two wins follow the Rams’ 4-3 triumph at Newark on Wednesday during which Jake Jenkins went the distance to earn the win and record the league’s first nine-inning complete game of the season.

The Rams play at Utica at 7 tonight, at Albany at 7:05 p.m. Saturday and at Glens Falls at 7:05 p.m. Sunday.
