BICYCLIST INJURED - BRASHER FALLS - A 14-year-old Brasher Falls youth remains hospitalized at the Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vt., being treated for an open fracture to his left arm and a fractured pelvis after he rode his bicycle into the path of a truck eastbound on County Route 50 late Tuesday morning.
Winthrop-based state police said Rion J. Cosores, 14, of state Route 11C, Brasher Falls, was northbound on his bicycle on George Street and failed to stop at a stop sign before making a left hand turn onto County Route 50. Troopers said the teenager pulled into the path of a vehicle eastbound on County Route 50 operated by Rafael L. Martinez, 63, of state Route 11C, Winthrop.
Cosores was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by Tri-Town Rescue and was later airlifted to the Vermont Medical Center by Lifenet.
Troopers said no tickets were issued.
RESISTING ARREST - BOMBAY - Malone-based state police charged Leonard P. Deshane, 27, of Constable with resisting arrest and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehiocle and ticketed him for a license restriction violation and speed in zone following a traffic stop at 10:57 p.m. Wednesday on County Route 1 in the town of Malone.
