Joseph I. Livingston, 67, of Route 12 died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 16 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Sandra Livingston, Hammond.
Born January 16, 1946 in Redding, PA, he was the son of Eva Lowe, and graduated from General Brown High School.
Mr. Livingston was in the United States Air Force from January 25, 1965 to July 1, 1967, serving in Vietnam and July 20, 1973 to July 19, 1977, serving in Panama as an aircraft specialist. He was honorably discharged. While in Panama he and his wife adopted their daughter, Rosalina.
He married Celia A. Hyde on April 26, 1970 at the United Methodist Church of Depauville. Mrs. Livingston died August 19, 2008.
Mr. Livingston was employed at Fort Drum with the Department of Defense from 1989 to 2009.
Mr. Livingston was a member of the Felts Mills-Carthage-Great Bend Grange, Robert Markwick Post 798, Philadelphia and Aldrich Fish and Game Club.In the past he was a Boy Scout leader and Sunday School teacher. He also attended the UMC of Depauville.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Joseph II and Sandra, Hammond; a daughter, Rosaline Livingston, Watertown; four grandchildren, Devon Leach, Faith Livingston, Eddie Knight and Dilan Livingston, all of Hammond; and a stepbrother, Frank Hayes, FL.
A brother, Frank Livingston and a stepsister, Shirley Hayes died before him.
The funeral will be 1 pm Friday at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa. Burial will be at St. Lawrence Union Cemetery, Cape Vincent.
